The Religious Education Program at Our Lady of the Lake is a program that helps students learn more about God's love for them and about their Catholic faith. This program helps not only the students, but the whole family grow in their faith. Classes are available for pre-school through eighth grade as well as preparation classes to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. All classes are staffed by trained volunteer catechists.
Do you have a love of your faith and a desire to share that faith with others? Would you like to help nurture the faith of our youngsters and help them to grow in their love of Jesus? This will be a good ministry for any parishioner or parent who wants to grow in their faith and help others explore what it means to be a Christian disciple. If you would like to help with the religious education program at Our Lady, please contact Karen Ronnebaum at religiouseducationolol@gmail. com. Thank you.
The Diocese of Kalamazoo is committed to creating safe environments in our parishes and schools. The mission of the Safe Environment Office is to assist parishes and schools in their implementation of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.
The Office of Safe Environment conducts criminal background checks on all clergy and employees, as well as all volunteers who have regular contact with children in parishes and schools. We work with parishes and schools to schedule training sessions. The VIRTUS™ program “Protecting God’s Children for Adults” is used to train employees and volunteers to prevent child sexual abuse. The three-hour session covers the scope and nature of child sexual abuse. It gives five specific steps adults can take to protect children.
